1. Information We Collect
We collect information to run and improve the app. This may include:
- Account details: Name, email, and profile details when you sign in with Google or create an account.
- Usage data: How you use the app, including device type, operating system, and activity logs.
- Training data: Session results such as reaction times, sprint times, and progress logs used to show your training history.
- Video analysis data: When you use AI Sprint Analysis, frames are prepared on your device and sent to our AI provider for analysis. Your original video files are never uploaded or stored on our servers. Only the frames needed for analysis are sent, and they are not kept after processing.
- Camera access: Timing Gates and reaction features need camera access so the app can see motion at the start or finish line. Most of this processing happens on your phone.
- Timing Gate improvement data: When you are signed in with Google and use Timing Gates, the finish phone may send us a short finish-line snapshot from that run — not your full camera video. This may include basic session details (such as distance, device type, and app version), how the finish was marked (for example, accepted or corrected), and a scrambled athlete reference so it is not tied to a name. We use this only to make Timing Gates more accurate for everyone.
- Purchase data: Google Play tells us what you bought (for example credits or a subscription) so we can unlock features. We do not receive or store your card details.
- Analytics data: Which screens and tools you open, and an approximate country and city that our analytics provider works out from your IP address.
- Website cookies: Essential cookies keep you signed in and remember your preferences. Analytics cookies are optional and are only set on the website after you accept them in our cookie banner. If you choose "Essential only", or make no choice at all, we do not load our analytics tools.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use this information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the SpeedTrackr Android app.
- Personalize your training experience and show your progress.
- Confirm purchases and unlock credits or subscription features.
- Communicate about the app, training features, and important updates.
- Send push notifications (such as training reminders) when enabled. You can change this in your device settings.
- Run AI analysis on the frames you submit for sprint reports.
- Improve Timing Gates accuracy using finish-line snapshots from signed-in sessions.
- Understand which features are used and in which countries, so we know what to build next. We publish only aggregate country totals, never anything about an individual.
3. Third-Party Services
We work with trusted partners to deliver the app:
- Google Gemini AI: Processes analysis frames for sprint reports. Frames are not stored by Google beyond the request.
- Google Play Billing: Handles all in-app purchases and subscriptions on Android. We never see your payment card details.
- Resend: Sends transactional emails such as receipts or account notices when needed.
- Amazon Cognito & Google Firebase Auth: Help with secure sign-in and account management.
- Google Drive: Stores Timing Gate improvement snapshots from signed-in sessions.
- PostHog: Product analytics for the app — which features are used, and approximate country and city worked out from your IP address.
- Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics: Load and run website measurement tags. These only run once you accept analytics cookies.
- Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights: Aggregate website traffic and page performance. These only load once you accept analytics cookies.
4. Data Security
We use industry-standard protections (including encrypted connections) to help keep your data safe from unauthorized access. Your training data is treated as confidential.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share data when:
- You ask us to, or give clear consent.
- It is needed for trusted partners who help us run the app under appropriate safeguards.
- The law requires it (for example a valid legal request).
- It is necessary to protect SpeedTrackr, our users, or the public.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- View or update your profile and training history in the app.
- Delete your account from the Profile section in the app. Account deletion is permanent. Your logs, sessions, and history will be removed. Short Timing Gate improvement snapshots that no longer identify you may be kept so we can continue improving finish detection.
- Turn off camera or notification permissions in your device settings. Without camera access, Timing Gates and related features will not work.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play.
- Opt out of marketing emails if we send them.
- Change your website cookie choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the cookie banner back.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last Updated" date.
